Safe Haven Sheltering Program

The Safe Haven is an overnight shelter for homeless adults. Our capacity is 15 guests. Our guests are selected from an application and interview process. When a guest enters the program they will have a guaranteed bed for an entire year.  Safe Haven selects  guests based on the following criteria: 1) making a concerted effort to become self-sufficient, 2) peaceful by nature, 3) sobriety, 4) emotionally or physically vulnerable at a warming center, 5) helpful.  To apply fill out the Safe Haven Application and email to agapefamilyservices80501@gmail.com, or fill out the form below.

Volunteers provide a dinner meal and the program ensures that the guests have transportation to and from the shelter sites in addition to breakfast and lunch, laundry facilities, showers, storage for their belongings, and a physical address that they can use to send and receive mail.

Safe Haven Sheltering Program

Guest Application

Safe Haven rents a small home in North Longmont that operates as a year-round "Day Shelter" for our guests.  This home gives the guests a place to check emails, apply for employment, fellowship with other guests, do their laundry, take showers, and receive counseling from our registered psychotherapist.  The guests are also able to participate in Bible Study as well as Celebrate Recovery meetings.

We employ the homeless guests who show a desire to overcome their addiction(s) and/or situation. After a few interviews and discussions a guest will be hired on a part-time basis, which allows for resume building and the opportunity to rejoin the work environment. AFS has seen this program rebuild hope and dignity in many guests
